My experience also includes six-years as a Staff Psychologist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs providing evidenced-based treatment and psychological assessment services to active duty soldiers and Veterans.
My clinical specialties include treatment of PTSD and other trauma related disorders, anxiety, as well as adjustment difficulties related to major life transitions. Anther area of interest includes working with new and expectant mothers around mood, anxiety, and relationship issues that can arise during this transitional period. Lastly, I am practiced at, and enjoy working with, students and young professionals.
My theoretical background is psychodynamically oriented but I draw from a wide range of theories and methods to tailor treatment to the goals and needs of each individual client. I aim to work collaboratively with clients to uncover unfinished business related to their childhoods, and get them out of self fulfilling patterns in relationships that keep them feeling stuck. My style is down to earth, supportive, and thoughtful. I will provide a safe yet challenging environment for you to explore issues important to you.
